今年上半年确实展柜外贸的订单多了不少,相比于前几年来看。
其实不是外贸客户多,而是之前根本没有去开发国外订单,国外高端客户始终也是有那么多,却苦于没有门路,一直没有做成生意。
昨晚一个客户在后台给我留言:
“hi,How can I buy your display”
随即他就发了个微信的二维码,好家伙,够直接,也用微信,这样联系沟通就更方便了。
添加完地球号之后,已经是晚上10点多了,这时候我都已经不太想聊业务了,工作了一天,到了晚上头脑都宕机了,我告诉Zad,第二天再联系。需要做展柜业务的客户,都不会一个晚上一个小时就敲定下来,要长时间的沟通才会下单,所以不着急这一晚上。
一开始,我没懂,他说的是要展柜,还是要展柜里面的陈列道具,就问我要了个图册。可是我到现在还没做过产品图册,只有一个公司介绍,还是中文版的,确实是国外生意做少了,配的东西都不齐。这个月一定要把图册和介绍册做一稿英文的。
客户后来发了个图片,是我介绍里面的道具图片问我:
“Do you have more photos of this”“I need for watches please ”
这才明白过来,原来他是要做手表道具,柜台已经有了,差一套陈列道具。
来自坦桑尼亚的客户,我还是第一次遇到,不知他们对品质的要求如何,他说“I have lost of connection with other business I think I can get you more orders. If the quality is good ”
“Please note delivery will be in Foshan that’s where my logistics Agent is”
并且说,物流只用发到广东佛山市就行,因为他的货代在佛山。
经过一早上的讨论,虽然我对手表道具生产比较熟悉,但是用英文跟客户说仍然有点不对味道,很多用翻译软件说的不正确,学好语言沟通做生意可太重要了,如果我们彼此英语流利,那打个网络电话就可以快速沟通,只可惜,英语都不好,只能翻译软件一来一回的说。
最终确定了生产一款道具,是我们做过的道具,修改成他的logo,第一次数量不多,我告诉他也没关系,就是价格会贵一些。
能跟不同国家的人打交道,也可以学习到很多经验,为以后得大订单做下基础,毕竟发海外会出现的情况比我们发国内的多。

Immediately, he sent a WeChat QR code. He's quite direct, using WeChat too. This definitely makes communication more convenient.
After adding his contact, it was already past 10 pm. I wasn't in the mood to discuss business anymore, having worked hard throughout the day. I told him, Zad, that we could talk the next day. Customers who need exhibition stands usually don't finalize orders within just an hour. It takes time and multiple discussions. So, there was no need to rush it.
Initially, I was confused about whether he wanted the exhibition stand or the display props inside. He asked for a catalog, but I hadn't prepared one yet. I only had a company introduction, and it was in Chinese. Clearly, I've been lacking in my preparations for overseas business. I must create an English version of the catalog and introduction this month.
Later, the customer sent me a picture of a display prop from my introduction and asked:
"Do you have more photos of this?" "I need it for watches, please."
Then I realized he was looking for watch display props. He already had the counter and just needed a set of display props.
This is the first time I've encountered a customer from Tanzania. I'm not sure about their quality requirements. He said, "I have lost contact with other businesses. I think I can get you more orders if the quality is good."
"Please note that the delivery will be in Foshan, as that's where my logistics agent is located."
He also mentioned that the logistics only needed to be delivered to Foshan, Guangdong, as his freight forwarder was there.
After a morning of discussion, although I'm familiar with the production of watch display props, communicating in English still felt a bit awkward. Many translations using translation software were inaccurate. It's crucial to learn good language skills for business communication. If we both spoke fluent English, we could quickly communicate over a video call. Unfortunately, our English isn't that good, so we have to rely on translation software.
Finally, we decided on producing a specific display prop, modifying it with his logo. The initial quantity isn't large, but I told him it was fine. The price would just be a bit higher.
Interacting with people from different countries allows me to learn a lot of experience, which lays a foundation for future larger orders. After all, there are more uncertainties and challenges in shipping overseas compared to domestic shipments.
