I haven't written an article for two days. On Saturday, I visited a supplier in Huizhou, and on Sunday, the entire factory was closed, so I stayed at home. In the afternoon, I checked on the progress of my new house and started considering the renovation plans.

Over the weekend, I've been reading a book that I bought back in December 2020. This is my second time reading it, and it's quite in line with the forgetting curve proposed by Ebbinghaus. I made many notes in the book, and now when I flip through its pages, it feels like I'm reading it for the first time. Books, especially good ones, deserve to be read more than once.

This book, "The Path to Financial Freedom," was recommended to me by Teacher Zhang. I've spent all my free time engrossed in it. It's as captivating as a novel.

Young people should read this book early on; it can completely transform their understanding of money. Although I've only read about half of it (over 100 pages), it has already profoundly changed my perspective on finance.

The book discusses how to increase one's income and emphasizes that everyone receives precisely what they deserve. While I often hear complaints such as, "I am worth much more than what I am currently receiving," this is incorrect. The accurate statement would be: "If I were truly worth more, I would have received it already."

Your income reflects the value you create in the economic market. The market is neither biased nor prejudiced; it simply compensates according to the value you provide. Your current income is the result of the decisions you made in the past. If you don’t understand this, you cannot say, "Now I will make different choices."

For example, when employees request a raise, most discussions tend to take the wrong direction. An employee might tell his boss, "I now have another child, which means I need a bigger house and a new car. I’ve been working here for years, so I need a raise." Not only would the boss likely refuse the request, but he might also decide that the company no longer needs this employee.

When asking for a raise, it’s crucial to clearly explain why you deserve it. List the value and additional benefits you bring to the company. Focus on what you can do for the company, not what the company can do for you. Concentrating too much on your own rights will hinder your progress.

For instance, if a client pays me 80,000 RMB for a display cabinet, I should provide them with 100,000 RMB worth of value. If you want to earn pay for eight hours of work, you should work for ten. In reality, people often receive pay for eight hours while only putting in six hours of effort.

We should strive to exceed expectations, delighting those around us and earning more for ourselves. Cultivating habits that lead to wealth is unrelated to over-delivering for clients or companies. Those who simmer their efforts on low heat will eventually find their fire extinguished.

Even if clients or bosses don’t see our extra efforts, we gain something invaluable: successful work habits that propel us forward.

If you're unsatisfied with your current display cabinets, consider giving XinFeng Factory a try.
