一天，一位贫穷的农夫走进他的粮仓，在鹅舍里他发现了一枚金蛋。他的第一个想法是:“一定是有人在跟我开玩笑。”但是为了进一步确认，他还是拿着这枚蛋去找了金匠。金匠检查后告诉农夫:“100%是金子，至纯的金子。”农夫将金蛋卖掉，带着一大袋钱回家了。

晚上，他举办了一个大型的庆祝会。黎明时，全家人都起床了，想看看鹅会不会又下金蛋。结果真的又有一枚金蛋躺在鹅舍里。从那时起，农夫每天早上都会找到一枚金蛋，他将金蛋卖掉，在很短时间内变得富有。

但是农夫是一个贪得无厌的人。他问自己，为什么我的鹅只下一枚金蛋呢？他也迫切地想知道，这个动物是如何下出金蛋来的。他变得越来越急躁。 最终他走进鹅舍，用一把大砍刀将鹅砍成了两半。而他所看见到的所有东西， 仅仅是一个尚未成形的金蛋。这个故事的寓意是:不要杀死你的“鹅”。

大多数人不是以同样方式处理的吗？“鹅”代表资本，金蛋代表利息。 没有资本就没有利息。大多数人将自己所有的钱花出去，因此他们无法饲养自己的“鹅”。他们杀掉了自己幼小的“鹅”，在“鹅”有能力生金蛋之前。

Most people spend all their money, therefore they cannot nurture their "geese." They slay their young "geese" before they have the ability to lay golden eggs.

If you lack a "goose" or a money-making machine, then no matter how much money you earn, you are merely a money-making machine yourself. Spend less than you earn—it sounds unremarkable. However, you will find that saving is not only practical but also meaningful.
