【338大小姐说展柜】做展柜只看不动手?完全没用

鱼、鸡、米,这三样你知道吗?知道。咸鱼鸡粒炒饭,你会做吗?而且还要味道很好,你做的到吗?99%傻眼。


这就是自以为知道和懂的结果。其实,做展柜与咸鱼鸡粒炒饭是一样的,你知道或懂了的那些东西,如果不亲手下厨,还是假把式。


假把式 = 只会夸夸其谈,缺乏实际操作能力的人。


学是输入,习是输出,脑科学的结论是输出比输入更重要,也就是习比学重要。


大多数做展柜的销售员一直在学(输入),但从来不习(输出),具体表现为:不下车间,不跟流程,不学工艺,不懂材料,内心还非常得意,这些我都知道、都懂,可这些知道和懂一文不值。


但这些知道和懂,时常被用来瞧不起别人。比如,那些天天在网络上看了几张效果图,在他们看来,不就是做展柜吗?有什么了不起?


曾经,我也以为做展柜是一件很简单的事情,不以为然,从小“看”到大,对,没错,我也就是站着看看,从不动手,不动手的结果,就是不懂,没法从深处来解释,做一个业务员不难,难的是做好交付,让客户满意,如果我们自己都不懂结构,那工厂的师傅更不会理解客户的需求。


所以我的老师,坚持让我下车间,下车间做到什么程度呢?要能够成为师傅的左膀右臂,甚至于你偷懒工序都没人可以看的出来,这才算真正把工艺学到家了,每一次的订单都是积累经验,从拆单、开料开始学习起来,多学几个订单,2-3年就可以掌握非常多的实操知识,这些对于我们谈客户,做工厂都是莫大的帮助。


从源头就开始把控质量,改掉之前只看不动手的坏习惯,还有一个网友杠,你们都有外面采购的配件,那别人也可以采购,我承认,是啊,做展柜有很多是外面采购的,需要供应商配合制作,就跟咸鱼、鸡、大米,一样,都是超市菜场买的,假设都是同等原料的情况下,就是有厨师做的好吃,有厨师做的难吃,这是为什么呢?

Most salespeople in the display cabinet industry focus on learning (input) but neglect practicing (output). They seldom visit workshops, follow processes, study craftsmanship, or understand materials. Yet, they feel content with their perceived knowledge, which holds no real value.


This assumed knowledge is often used to belittle others. For example, some individuals who have merely seen a few renderings online might think, "Isn't it just making display cabinets? What's so impressive about that?"


Once, I also believed that making display cabinets was a simple task, taking it for granted. I grew up "watching" the process, yes, just standing there observing, never participating. The consequence of not engaging hands-on was a lack of true understanding and the inability to explain the intricacies of the craft. Being a salesperson is not difficult; the challenge lies in delivering satisfactory results to clients. If we, as salespeople, do not understand the structures, how can we expect the factory workers to grasp the clients' needs?


Therefore, my mentor insisted I work in the workshop, immersing myself to the point where I could become a reliable assistant to the master craftsmen, even to the extent that if I were to take a break, no one would notice. Only then would I truly master the craft. Each order is an opportunity to accumulate experience, starting from breaking down orders to material preparation. After handling several orders, one can acquire a wealth of practical knowledge in 2 to 3 years, which greatly benefits both customer engagement and factory operations.


Quality control begins at the source, changing the habit of merely observing without participating. Some argue that since we source components externally, others can do the same. It is true that many parts are sourced externally and require supplier collaboration, much like purchasing fish, chicken, and rice from supermarkets. Assuming equal raw materials, why do some chefs produce delicious dishes while others do not?
